Docomomo US/New York Tri-State will offer students and emerging professional grants for the 19th International Docomomo Conference

The grant provides financial support for students and emerging professionals committed to the documentation and conservation of Modern Movement buildings, landscapes, and sites. The intent of this year’s scholarship is to enable up to two individuals to participate in the IDC in Los Angeles. March 17–22.

Design competition at the Gropius House: A Bauhaus Bathroom

Historic New England has launched the “A Bauhaus Bathroom” design competition to find a permanent, accessible public restroom for the visitor center at the Gropius House. The winning design will earn a $5,000 award, archival inclusion, and on-site exhibition, with potential for realization at the site. Submit entries by February 6, 2026.

The Robert Silman Award

The Robert Silman Award provides up to $15,000 for an innovative proposal that advances preservation, restoration, or adaptive reuse of the built environment. Open to U.S. professionals in preservation-related fields, the award supports both real and conceptual projects with strong dissemination and impact plans. Deadline Monday December 15, 2025.

James Marston Fitch Mid-Career Fellowships

The James Marston Fitch Mid-Career Fellowship offers up to $15,000 to preservation and design professionals pursuing innovative research or projects that advance the field. Eligible applicants must be established mid-career practitioners with a clear work plan, strong professional background, and a strategy for sharing their results. Application deadline: Monday December 15.

Zabar Family Preservation scholarships

The Zabar Family Scholarship offers three $3,000 awards to students studying historic preservation or related fields at colleges and universities in New York. Recipients also receive funded attendance at the New York Statewide Preservation Conference. Applications—due February 13, 2026—require a short essay, transcript, resume, and one recommendation.
