The James Marston Fitch Charitable Foundation offers Mid-Career Fellow research grants of up to $15,000 to U.S. professionals with established experience in historic preservation or related fields such as architecture, landscape architecture, urban design, environmental planning, architectural history, and decorative arts. These grants support innovative research or project execution that contributes meaningfully to the preservation field and includes a clear plan for dissemination. Applicants must submit a single PDF containing a project description, budget, work schedule, CV, and two letters of support, and proposals are evaluated on originality, feasibility, impact, and clarity. Grants are awarded in spring 2026, must be completed within 12 months, and recipients work with a Trustee advisor while providing progress reports throughout the project.
