New Canaan’s month-long celebration of architecture, art, design, October4Design, is back.

Docomomo US has announced the 12 recipients of the 2022 Modernism in America prize. There are three winners in the Tri-State region this year: Hotel Marcel, Gagarin II House, and the Beverly Willis Architecture Foundation: Pioneering Women project.

Tour Day takes place officially on Saturday October 8, but events continue throughout the month and across the country. Over 25 tours are on the docket this year.

The National Trust for Historic Preservation’s African American Cultural Heritage Action Fund and The Getty Foundation announced a new initiative to preserve historic modern architecture by Black architects and designers through a $3.1 million grant program.
