Join the Frank Lloyd Wright Building Conservancy for a talk with historian Sarah Rovang on her upcoming book Through the Long Desert: Georgia O’Keeffe and Frank Lloyd Wright. The event explores the personal and artistic connections between the two icons, including their shared love of the American desert and a revealing stream of letters the two exchanged.

Architectural historian Thomas Leslie will present new research from The Modern Concrete Skyscraper exhibition, exploring Chicago’s central role in advancing high-rise construction in concrete and challenging the more established steel industry. Of the 400 buildings taller than 12 stories built in Chicago between 1950 and 1986 over half were reinforced concrete.
