Docomomo US has announced the recipients of 2026’s Modernism in America Awards. Now in its thirteenth year the award celebrates outstanding efforts to preserve, restore, rehabilitate, document, and advocate for modern architecture and design. This year’s 15 honorees demonstrate the many ways preservation can respond to contemporary needs—from expanding access and extending the life of schools, workplaces, and housing, to improving environmental performance and protecting culturally significant places. Together, the recognized projects and individuals show how thoughtful stewardship can keep modern heritage relevant, useful, and resilient for generations to come.
