This Architectural Digest video explores an exceptional 1948 Frank Lloyd Wright house in Usonia, NY. Even in the remarkable community of Usonia, the Bertha and Sol Friedman House, or “Toy Hill”, stands out. Designed by Wright in 1948, its circular forms distinguish it from its more angular neighbors, several of which are also Wright’s work. Owner Brian Renz guides an in-depth interior tour of the house, noting that the previous owners advised him to “only bring a toothbrush, because there’s no room for anything else.” Roland Reisley, the last living person to commission a house from Wright, makes an appearance to share context about the initial development of Usonia, of which his house is also a part.
