DOCOMOMO supports designation of Queens Church: Modernism meets Lithuanian folk elements

DOCOMOMO US/New York Tri-State is asking the LPC to designate The Church of the Transfiguration, a key piece of Lithuanian American history and culture, as an individual landmark. Sign the petition to support this effort.

James Rose’s landscape design for the Texwipe Corporation is listed

James Rose’s 1985 landscape design for the Texwipe Corporation campus—now EarthCam Headquarters—in Upper Saddle River, NJ, marks a major preservation milestone, becoming the second Rose-designed landscape to be listed on the National Register of Historic Places. 

19th International Docomomo Conference comes to Los Angeles next March

The biennial International Docomomo Conference will be held in Los Angeles March 17-22, 2026. A Call for Abstracts on the topic “Multiple Moderns: Climate, Community, Creativity” opens May 1 and runs through June 2. The event will feature exciting venues, academic sessions, social gatherings, and the much anticipated tours. A five-day student workshop precedes the conference.

It’s Modernism in America Awards time

Nominations are now open for the 12th Modernism in America Awards. The Awards celebrate the documentation, preservation and reuse of modern buildings, structures and landscapes built in the United States or on U.S. territory. The early nomination deadline is Friday, April 25; final deadline May 30.
