Renowned production designer Judy Becker discusses her Academy Award-nominated work on The Brutalist (A24, 2024) for this AIA NY lecture.

Becker will share behind-the-scenes insights into her creative process and reveal how she surmounted the unique challenge of designing the life and work of a fictional, midcentury, brutalist architect. Becker is best known for her widely celebrated collaborations with directors such as Brady Corbet (The Brutalist, 2024), Todd Haynes (Carol, 2015), David O. Russell (American Hustle, 2013), and Ang Lee (Brokeback Mountain, 2005).
