Pines Modern returns with an all new guided tour of select midcentury modern houses in the Fire Island Pines community on Fire Island. The tour will be offered on two Sundays—September 12 and 19. Details will be announced and tickets will go on sale Sunday August 1 at PinesModern.org.

If you’re not familiar with this impressive collection of modern beach homes from the 1960s and 1970s off the shore of Long Island you can peruse Pines Modern’s interactive online tour of some of the most noteworthy houses here. Pines Modern is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the rediscovery of all that the Pines has created with a focus on the community’s midcentury architectural and cultural heritage. Led by architect Christopher Rawlins, Pines Modern was recognized with a Special Citation as a grassroots initiative in the 2020 Docomomo US Modernism in America Awards.
