Join Hamptons 20th Century Modern along with Hamptons Cottages & Gardens magazine for an unforgettable tour of the area’s modernist properties. The tour starts in East Hampton where participants will be able to hop on a tour bus or self drive to see six singular homes in the Hamptons, all designed in the modern style. See inside rare sections of the Hamptons, and learn about the history and design of each structure from knowledgeable docents.

This is an important time to reconsider under-the-radar Hamptons history and advocate for the future of significant modern architecture here before it is lost. It is time to illuminate the impressive range of architects who innovated and influenced the design of the American home here and others whose contributions have yet to be properly documented.

VIP tickets include an additional house tour and panel discussion in the late afternoon. The conversation will be moderated by Liz Waytkus, Executive Director of Docomomo US. Perspectives will be presented by Caroline Rob Zaleski, author of the landmark study Long Island Modernism 1930-1980; architect Viola Rouhani of Stelle Lomont Rouhani Architects on the relevance of this heritage to new local architecture; and Lisa Perry, whose vision of architectural restoration is a prime example of conservation for the community. The site of the talk is Perry’s Oona House, a stunning 1962 house originally designed by architect Paul Lester Weiner for the legendary pop art collectors Robert + Ethel Scull, now transformed into a center for the presentation of works by women artists.
