May 15, 2022

Join Frances Shapiro-Weitzenhoffer Professor Emeritus of 19th Century European Art at University of Pennsylvania and President of the Beth Sholom Synagogue Preservation Foundation David Brownlee as they sit down for the Foundation’s next “Fireside Chat.”

Professor Brownlee will explore the context and social environment which influenced Frank Lloyd Wright’s work and directly impacted the design of Beth Sholom Synagogue. Using Wright’s original designs and sketches, as well as examples of automobiles and other influences, this lecture is an opportunity to appreciate Wright’s work through the lens of the 1950s.
