AIA NY is leading a tour of the New York Hall of Science Great Hall, designed by Wallace K. Harrison (1895–1981) for the 1964 World’s Fair. Harrison’s design is made up of 100-foot-high undulating walls with 5,000+ cobalt-blue dalle de verre panels set into the structure. The Great Hall is one of the most remarkable spaces in the city, and one of the few structures that remain from the 1964 fair. The tour is a part of Archtober, a NYC-based platform that promotes the discovery of architecture and design through experiences and content, culminating in a month-long festival every October.
Tour ticket includes same-day free general admission to New York Hall of Science.
