Unpacking the Imperial Hotel at 100: Frank Lloyd Wright and the World

In celebration of the Imperial Hotel’s 100th anniversary, the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation and the Frank Lloyd Wright Building Conservancy are hosting a series of online conversations about FLW’s engagement with Japan and the world. ‘To See A World In A Grain Of Sand,’ the second talk, will address the creation and deployment of Wright’s Usonian Automatic system of concrete blocks.

Frick Madison Farewell Tour

Attend a special, private farewell tour of Marcel Breuer and Hamilton Smith’s iconic Upper East Side building, originally built for the Whitney Museum of American Art. First opened to the public 57 years ago, it is now in its last days of use as an art museum. This DOCOMOMO US/New York Tri-State tour will examine the building’s history and consider how it has been adapted to meet the needs of two prominent museums—The Met and Frick Madison—since the Whitney Museum moved out.
