The 17th International DOCOMOMO Conference will take place in València, Spain, September 6 to 9. Presented by The Universitat Politècnica de València, through the School of Architecture, and directed by Carmen Jordá and Maite Palomares, the Conference is included in the València World Design Capital 2022 program. Conference attendees can participate in-person or online.
The Conference theme, “Modern Design: Social Commitment & Quality of Life” aims to present the Modern Movement’s legacy in a wider context, not simply individual architects or buildings, but the values of the Modern Movement and their impact on society in general. Subthemes are: (1) the European avant-garde; (2) Post-War. International Expansion; (3) the Latin American Contribution; (4) Modern Pioneering Women; (5) Iberia. Cultural Identity; (6) New Materials and Innovative Technologies; (7) Urban Design and Quality of Life and (8) Landscapes and Public Space.
During the Conference, invited speakers, recognized specialists in modern design, will provide a global perspective of how modern design and its complementary aspects developed.
